Using Reference Books

Reference books are located on the library's 3rd floor.

Generally, you will not cite reference books as sources in an academic paper, but they may help you start your research. Use them to get a general overview of a subject and to choose or refine your topic. Reference books might also be useful to finding basic information.

Reference books can also direct you to the books and articles that you will cite in your paper, because they usually contain lists of resources for further reading.
