ARTFL-FRANTEXT E-book Database

Tips for searching the ARTFL-FRANTEXT database:

  • You may search for a single word, a word root, a prefix, a suffix, or a list of words in the database.
  • You may search a single text; texts by a single author, from a particular time period, or with a particular word in the title, or all the texts in the database.
  • Do not include punctuation in your search. (Search for Jeanne Arc, not Jeanne D'Arc.)
  • When searching for a keyword, accents matter. To "cheat" and search without accents, enter your search terms in ALL CAPS.
  • To search for a word in ARTFL's online dictionary, hightlight the word and then press "d" on your keyboard.
