As you discover, read, and analyze your sources, you should gain some understanding about the themes, arguments, disagreements, and consensus between experts in the field of your research topic. No matter the research assignment you'll be required to complete for your section of FYS, you'll need to engage deeply with your sources in order to address your research question.
If you are assigned an annotated bibliography, check out the library's detailed guides to completing that assignment:
Librarians are happy to help you with all parts of your FYS research--from deciding on a research topic to putting the finishing touches on your Work Cited page. For help with your writing specifically, you can schedule virtual help with the Writing Center, a part of the Josephine Steiner Student Success Center. You can make an appointment with either an online or peer tutor though Thinking Storm, which you can access through any class site on Blackboard.
