The Archive and Special Collections Department is a vital laboratory for historical inquiry and experiential learning, through internships, instruction, research, and research assistance. We ingest, process, preserve, and provide access to records of enduring historical value from all campus departments according to an approved campus records retention schedule.
The Department collaborates with other campus offices to enrich the culture of Hood for current students, staff, and faculty and to develop strong relations with alumni. Beyond the campus, it collaborates with local and state historic institutions and cultural landmarks to heighten the presence of the College in academic and historic arenas.
